How do I get a Storefront API token?+
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps. Create a new app, then under the Storefront API tab enable storefront access (products, collections, cart). Copy the Storefront API access token and paste it into Pipecat.
Does checkout actually happen inside the chat?+
No — the cart is built in chat, but checkout happens on Shopify's own checkout page. When the shopper clicks Checkout, they are taken to a Shopify checkout_url where your existing payment methods, shipping rules, and taxes apply. Nothing changes about how Shopify handles payments.
